Long before the company started, co-owners of Monolith and childhood best friends Peter Masaitis and Russell DaSilva started using "monolithic" to describe anything that they saw as exceptional and standing out from the rest. When the two partners decided to go out on their own, they naturally then founded the Monolith Construction Corp and the name "Monolith" quickly became synonymous with the company's stand alone concrete and stone masonry work.
